Guides

Every informational guide follows the same process:

1. Collect the underlying standards and primary sources (AHAM DH-1-2019, ENERGY STAR criteria, EPA moisture guidance, manufacturer manuals).
2. Compare against what real owners report in forums and reviews to find where theory and practice diverge.
3. Answer the main question first, then add evidence, edge cases, and next steps.
4. Human editorial review before publication, with sources cited in the article.

Calculators

Our calculators implement published formulas and standards — for example, the dehumidifier size calculator interpolates the AHAM/ENERGY STAR sizing chart under the post-2019 test standard. Each tool explains its basis and its limits on the page. Calculators run entirely in your browser; we don't collect what you enter.

Product recommendations

Commercial guides start from specifications, certification databases, and aggregated owner feedback — not from affiliate commission tables. Where we haven't independently tested a product, we say so plainly. We never accept payment for a recommendation.

Limits

We are a publisher, not a licensed contractor. Structural moisture problems, electrical work, and mold beyond small surface patches need a qualified professional — our guides tell you when that line is crossed.
