The short version
We use Google Analytics to understand which guides are useful, and Google AdSense to show ads that keep the site free — both set cookies, described below. Our calculators run entirely in your browser — what you type into them never leaves your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
What we collect
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people find useful. It sets cookies and the data is processed by Google (privacy policy). We don't use it for advertising. You can opt out with Google'sopt-out add-onor by blocking cookies — the site works fully either way.
- Google AdSense. We show ads through Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve and measure ads, and may personalize them based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can control ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings, opt out of third-party ad vendors ataboutads.info, and read how Google uses data on sites that use its services inGoogle's partner-sites notice. Blocking cookies still lets the site work fully.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard request logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and reliability. These are retained per Vercel's policies.
- Email. If you email us, we keep the correspondence to answer you. We don't add you to any list.
- Live humidity lookup (optional). On our US humidity map, if you choose to press "Check my local humidity", your browser asks your permission and sends your coordinates to Open-Meteo for that single lookup. We never store your location, and nothing happens unless you click the button.
When this changes
If we add or change any third-party service, this policy will be updated and the change dated. We will always prefer the least data collection that lets the site operate.
